Israel Tax Burden Ranks Among The World’s Lowest

Israel's tax burden, encompassing income and property taxes, customs duties, VAT and national insurance, totaled 28.6% of GDP last year, much lower than in most Western countries. The tax burden of members of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) averaged 36.3% during 2002-2003.
