Secret Order (No.6136/1944. VII. res.) issued by the Hungarian Minister of the Interior to Subordinated Mayoral, Police and Gendarmerie organs authorizing the registration of the Jews by the Jews April 4, 1944:
To all Mayors and Local Boards At Their Stations Instruct the Jewish communal organizations to prepare a list in four copies of all Jews with their families, specifying their apartments and places of residence, and to submit it immediately to the mayor or the local boards. The mayor or local board will send one copy of the list to the police authority of first instance, another to the Gendarmerie guard command, and a third by mail to the Royal Hungarian Minister of the Interior no later than April 8. The list must also include the name of the mother for all those listed.
Instruction Issued by the Mayor of Nyiregyhaza for the Registration of the Jews 9615/1944 F.J.
Subject: Registration of the Jews Decision I hereby instruct the Jewish communal organs to prepare a list of all the Jews together with their family members, giving the address and apartment number, and to submit it in four copies to the City Clerk (City Hall, Room 3) within 48 hours from the receipt of this Decision.
The list should also include the name of the mother for all persons listed.
