In September 2016 the American Jewish Committee circulated a letter to Governors around the United States, which sought their support in “reject[ing] efforts to demonize and delegitimize Israel... through the boycott, divestment and sanctions (BDS) movement.” The letter, titled Governors Against BDS, details the goals of the movement and explains how the BDS campaign undermines the peace process. As of September 29, 2016, the letter has been signed by the governors of Arkansas, Connecticut, Delaware, Washington DC, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas, and Utah.
